That's right, prepare yourselves for the most loosely organized talk we've put on an episode since... I can't even remember. Superior Spider-Man! The Beverly Hills Cop movies! The four of us are again joined by Marshall as we cover everything from more of the Marvel NOW! titles to how Capcom's celebrating Mega Man's 25th anniversary; what mysteries lie within? Tune in to find out what happens when I tell everyone "I have nothing to say" about something (take a guess), whether or not All New X-Men is readable (take another guess), and what everyone thinks about how The Hobbit will do (I'll be honest: take a drink)! Can we understand Marshall through his fuzzy Skype connection? Does Chris care about all these controversies? Will anything quiet the beast awakened by the air in the room? Am I even awake period?

One cold/fever and eight dried-out, bleeding knuckles later, the four of us find time to sit down over the different Marvel NOW! titles out there; how were Iron Man, Thor: God of Thunder, Indestructible Hulk, and Uncanny Avengers? The answers might surprise you, but not as much as how Greg Land continues to shock us all with how much he traces! Besides that, we’ve also got lots of exciting stories as everyone but me discusses the wonderful memories they made while I was getting spit on by customers for not controlling the fabric of reality for their benefit. Plus: we all discuss the fascinating (and oddly controversial with some) Amazing Spider-Man #698! Will that one thing that happened ruin some other things for some indeterminate amount of time? Have my years of faith and trust in Dan Slott been rewarded? Why are some people claiming it’s really out there when there’s that one Silver Age story where Doc Ock convinced Spidey he was a crook after he got zapped with an experimental ray gun? Tune in for these moments and more in a surprisingly-focused-despite-lack-of-much-planning episode! Download HERE!]]>

Besides that epic 23 film struggle to remember what happened in each individual film, Michael tries to convince the rest of us that Avengers vs. X-men isn't bad, even though Bendis apparently can't remember that Jean Grey never died on the moon since she was never actually Dark Phoenix. Then again, maybe he was just choosing not to acknowledge one of the most famous examples of a retcon ever because tying Iron Fist into the Phoenix Force was really important and will have tons of future meaning for the character. Treat yourself to that, and so much more criticism against AvX! If you're not interested in that, there's more Assassin's Creed III talk, making the game officially something I've heard more about than Resident Evil 6. Hey Capcom, how's that whole co-op thing working out?

<itunes:summary>So now that most of us have seen Skyfall we feel safe in talking about it, despite how Mike has people who revealed almost everything important about it already; in the process we have a brand new Over/Under covering every single James Bond film (including the unofficial ones) (except Never Say Never Again which we mention but might have forgot to review properly).

I guess it has but for our masses of fans I can only imagine how it felt like an eternity! Speaking of eternity, I escaped from work long enough for us to try and focus on actually recording a cohesive episode in under two hours! Did we make it? I'm pretty confident that we did but I'm kind of biased that we did. Included in this episode: the hilarious ineptitude of the World War Z trailer! Surprising reactions to the trailer for the generically named Hitchcock! A whole lot of rambling! Some talk about what I do in my spare time! ASSASSIN'S CREED III! Me remembering which Hitchcock movies Jaysun has seen because I'm half insane like that! Brad Pitt's scarf! There's more but I don't really want to spoil all the thrills of what actually ended up in here so just listen already; if you're good, we may even talk about site icon John Frusciante! It was a short session but that doesn't mean that it's any less powerful! Take this concentrated talk-bullet and slay the bore-creatures of Snoreopolis with it!]]>

But we've got a new episode waiting for when you're done being glad that you don't have to buy Sentry again since Marvel Legends is doing away with Build a Figures! This time around, someone other than me actually watched a movie! I know, I can't believe it either! Incredible! Believe it or not, two people did! Hear me finally get to talk about Brave in real detail as me and Jaysun relate our problems and positives with Pixar's uneven fantasy tale while Mike finally saw Prometheus, way after most of the internet forgot how mad they were about it when they saw some new picture from The Dark Knight Rises. It was probably Batman just standing on a building but you know how it is. Hear us try to think of a new Over/Under! That is, before we decide on Fast Food restaurants, which are judged by me almost entirely on the quality of their chicken. I'm pretty sure some other stuff happened too but I want to get back to the pretty pictures so you'll just have to listen to find what else is in here. <itunes:summary>Well you guys are probably looking at the early pics from SDCC, like I just was until I started writing this, but that's OK as we're seeing some really impressive stuff already. Odds are I gush about that Pacific Rim poster some more though!</itunes:summary>

Thrill to me and Jaysun bitching about Mattel! Wonder if Mike left the room or if he just fell asleep! Hear most of us have a real opinion about The Newsroom that's more than just saying Aaron Sorkin's last name followed by exclamation points on Facebook! Can I make Revenge sound interesting to Kinsel at last? Did Mike actually fall asleep? Or am I just making a joke about him rushing out to smoke before the rain arrived? Find out here and only here as I once again bitch about how no one visits the site even though we actually have consistent updates! Plus: so many new trailers we actually forget to talk about them all in Trailer Trash! Is Glee a deep deconstruction of high school based TV shows or is Mike just reading too deep into the trailer for Pitch Perfect? What about Dredd? Is that going to have appeal for people not part of the pre-installed audience? Will I stop asking hypothetical questions to fill out this writeup since I'm actually at work right now?]]>

How did Brave turn out? Did anyone watch it besides me? What about that Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter movie? No? Well alright then. Anyway, on this episode we've got a brand new Million Dollar Movie: DubStep-Up! Thrill to the emotional rollercoaster that can only be provided by deep bass drops can give! Kinsel's also got a new question for all of us that kind of goes in a direction he wasn't expecting! Plus: what's Mike been messing around with for What's 'Appening? Listen so I can focus on something that isn't how to get this residue on my Blu-ray slip covers off! Seriously, why the hell do they do that? It's not like anyone's going to buy their kid a copy of Whisper of the Heart because it's got the DVD included, so why put on some damn sticker on it? I sort of get it with bigger movies but either way, try to make them out of material that doesn't cling to the cardboard like critics crabbing about how featuring a princess makes Brave feel less like a Pixar movie! Really, that's your argument? Why not focus on something actually related to the film's quality as opposed to how you feel too cool for it since princesses make it too "Disney"? Pretty sure there was a princess in A Bug's Life even if she wasn't the main character. Does Mike Sully running a company ruin the blue-collar everyman feel the character had, making him too much like that sellout the Tramp? Disney! Disney I cry! Never mind that one awful gag in Brave that felt like it belonged in a Shrek film; there's nothing worse than feeling like a Disney movie proper! Away with your corrupting influence, animation studio that's been associated with Pixar from their first theatrical release! You're corrupting them with your mainstream sentiments! That weird monologue that closes the film that doesn't really make any sense? Bah, nonsense! Who cares about that when the indie sensibilities of Pixar are being strangled away by Disney's shallow marketing machine! We should filter all film criticism through a prism of whether or not something betrays a nebulously defined set of story elements that make it hew too close to themes presented in the output of a studio closely associated with them! Prometheus had nice new looking spaceships in it and that reminded me too much of the Star Wars prequels so now I can't enjoy it! Traitors! Brigands! Cads!]]>

Also, E3 happened and you wouldn't believe how big of a struggle it is to make some of this stuff sound interesting. Can anything move me and Marshall into caring about Watchdogs? What older movies do I have briefly stated disparaging opinions of? What musical writing team do we think is terrible outside of their two most popular works? Does anyone besides me remember The Best Years of our Lives? Also, I reflect briefly on Dark Shadows and how it's like watching someone look over a menu for too long! Chris reflects on the golden age of Must See TV while me and Jaysun try not to make fun of him for watching E.R.! After all the deeply involving commentary there, you can hear about all sorts of non-Android doodads in What's 'Appening! I fret about The Amazing Spider-Man some more as well and I know you guys can't get enough of that. Come, stare deeply into the eyes of movie attendance with us!

<itunes:summary>While The Avengers continues to conquer the internet and, honestly most of the world in general, we return to the studio to take a look at how well the most popular movies of yesteryear have actually made it into the sights of some of us now!

But it's not all big questions about the future of entertainment formats and stuff! For the first time ever we're bringing you Million Dollar Movie, the spiritual successor to the Wacky Kevin James Movie improv session from last year! What sort of things are in store? Do they involve Kevin James? Can I do a passable impression of not one but three females? All the answers are contained within, except that last one because you guys probably already know. Anyway, there's a brand new What's 'Appening as well all about Angry Birds Space!

Plus: Find out where Jas' search for a new "favorite current" band begins now that Thrice has broken up! Listen to everyone but Chris talk about their memories of Morrison's New X-men! South by Southwest and Wondercon? Wait, they weren't actually that big of a deal but are, respectively, kind of coasting on the fact that Sundance is becoming less relevant every year and that the comic movies of last summer had big presentations there? Also Wondercon kind of had a big Game of Thrones presence last year? Well that's kind of cool; I'm really glad that the lower left quarter of the US gets all these great opportunities especially since they don't have anything like the Alamo Drafthouse or SDCC around to keep them busy or look forward to.

Not that it's a big deal or anything.

Anyway, Prometheus, the most important film in the history of human civilization, had a new trailer debut and we're going to analyze it in the most meaningful way possible in a new session of Trailer Trash. That roughly translates to... something.

Also, we look at how Tim Burton has somehow made Dark Shadows into a movie that I'd actually want to watch as opposed to a TV show I'd change the channel for once the Twilight Zone and Swamp Thing reruns were over on Sci-Fi in the 90's.

Plus, at Mike and Kinsel's insistence, we analyze our first ever video game trailers!

Assassin's Creed 3 had me interested when I heard it took place during the Revolutionary War; does the trailer help that? Can it get Jas to actually give a shit?

I remember Borderlands being kind of a big deal but not a huge crazy off-the-wall success; since almost every single videogame in existence is now a franchise, what's Borderlands 2 going to offer? We watch a trailer that tells us!

Also, we said we'd do it a few episodes ago so I hope you guys are ready for NOSTRADORKUS! However that turns out sounding, there you have it. We take a look at the brewing hate storm over the silly Michael Bay panel for his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles project! Star Wars gets mentioned at some point! Wrestlemania (sort of)! All that and Lantern Corpsner, where I wonder if there isn't a huge divide between people who listen to the show and people who read the site. Is anyone paying attention to these write-ups?]]>

Would he ever know, truly? There'd be time enough to consider that later, but now he needed to head to the station's head as he knew a new transmission would be arriving soon. The promise of a beatdown over at least one sci-fi author was enough to bring him to this point but he knew there would be plenty more as the strange beings whose signal he picked up were famous among themselves for getting more detailed than they should. One of them had a new question as well and the promise of their ring distributing ceremony always held something interesting.

This episode: Over/Under on Sci-fi authors! Kinsel ponders the simple beauty of Camp Nowhere! I discover that someone else on Earth has read a John Christopher story though it was under one of his other assumed names! Get frustrated with Jas and Mike over people not reading Larry Niven! Get a brief little box office analysis as I get shocked over how much money The Lorax opened at! All this and plenty more on a slightly streamlined new episode of Planned Banter, the show that doesn't have to crib from other shows in the same area for the tone of their write-ups that they then adopt for every episode because they can't create anything original themselves! Thrills, thrills, THRILLS!]]>

Thrills, thrills, THRILLS!</itunes:summary>

Anyway, we finally confront the elephants in the room in a new session of Trailer Trash featuring The Hobbit, The Dark Knight Rises, and Prometheus (official sponsor of the summer of 2012)! Just how crazy is it going to get with these three hotly anticipated films putting out trailers so close together? Matty sticks his head out of the dark recesses of the 7th circle to let us know what's happening at Mattel in 2012! Speaking of different perceptions of the word "quality", Chris happened to watch The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo a day before I did and we both kind of talk about that. What'd we think? Well I think we said but I'm not entirely sure; doubtless it will be VERY interesting so don't even bother denying it! All that and a new Lantern Corps-ner! Can you believe it? I can't and I lived it so it has to be pretty amazing! Open those auditory receptors and listen to the second spectacular 2012 entry of Planned Banter!]]>

Or a licensed series like Red Dwarf or Doctor Who. I haven't fact-checked those others but I'm covering my bases here. Anyway, get excited as Mike struggles to complete one thought while we interrupt him every 5 seconds! So what's that flying over the horizon to land on your shoulder in a way totally unlike that one time where my brother got bird crap on him at Seaworld? Well we've got a brand new Kinsel's question! What fantasy universe would the crew of Planned Banter spend it's days a part of? Thrill to the thought of whether or not Harry Potter's world is exciting without a horrific magical war that kills many of your friends! Sigh at how Doctor Who makes it all easy with it's time traveling, usage of hammer space and the possibilities of running around with cute girls! Gasp at how I can't make up my mind not once but twice in the course of the episode! There's some other stuff too and I promise it's totally awesome though I'm not ruining the surprise here! Listen! Listen curse you! Or you'll never know what you missed!]]>
