Thanksgiving’s over, and while normal people were enjoying the lovely holiday season, me and Mike were busy putting up with the dark side of families coming together: all that bullshit they want to inflict on their relatives but instead save for the employees of the businesses they so kindly patronize over the extended holiday. One cold/fever and eight dried-out, bleeding knuckles later, the four of us find time to sit down over the different Marvel NOW! titles out there; how were Iron Man, Thor: God of Thunder, Indestructible Hulk, and Uncanny Avengers? The answers might surprise you, but not as much as how Greg Land continues to shock us all with how much he traces! Besides that, we’ve also got lots of exciting stories as everyone but me discusses the wonderful memories they made while I was getting spit on by customers for not controlling the fabric of reality for their benefit. So now that most of us have seen Skyfall we feel safe in talking about it, despite how Mike has people who revealed almost everything important about it already; in the process we have a brand new Over/Under covering every single James Bond film (including the unofficial ones) (except Never Say Never Again which we mention but might have forgot to review properly). Besides that epic 23 film struggle to remember what happened in each individual film, Michael tries to convince the rest of us that Avengers vs. X-men isn't bad, even though Bendis apparently can't remember that Jean Grey never died on the moon since she was never actually Dark Phoenix. Then again, maybe he was just choosing not to acknowledge one of the most famous examples of a retcon ever because tying Iron Fist into the Phoenix Force was really important and will have tons of future meaning for the character. Treat yourself to that, and so much more criticism against AvX! If you're not interested in that, there's more Assassin's Creed III talk, making the game officially something I've heard more about than Resident Evil 6. Has it been a week since we returned already? I guess it has but for our masses of fans I can only imagine how it felt like an eternity! Speaking of eternity, I escaped from work long enough for us to try and focus on actually recording a cohesive episode in under two hours! Did we make it? The four of us are back to discuss all sorts of things, including the recent Tuesday-based event that has altered the future of everything in the United States and beyond: Disney buying Lucasfilm! Marshall joins us as we cover the thing that so many other sites are lazily assigning every director and screenwriter on the planet to just for the sake of hits! After all, there's no originality in Hollywood left but there's no quicker way to remedy that than to put anyone who'd want to work on their own ideas on a Star Wars film! I'm sure Simon Pegg will totally approve, provided that he's allowed to take part in it! Seriously, Clone Wars hasn't had anything nearly as goofy as what's in the prequels! At least providing you ignore the weird bayou noir episode with Quinlan Vos, the one where Seth Green's annoying droid character kept trying to kill C-3PO, or the boring set of Godzilla episodes that went on forever. Well things are finally back to some semblance of normalcy after Jaysun and Mike's big move as well as the great failure of quick repair services at the Apple Store of 2012; this episode has been mostly finished for nearly two weeks but that doesn't make it any less important, especially since John drops by! Well you guys are probably looking at the early pics from SDCC, like I just was until I started writing this, but that's OK as we're seeing some really impressive stuff already. Another big movie came out this weekend and with it the wave of nitpicky dissatisfaction that's seemingly plagued every movie released in more than 50 venues in its first week that's not called The Avengers. How did Brave turn out? Did anyone watch it besides me? What about that Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter movie? No? Well alright then. Anyway, on this episode we've got a brand new Million Dollar Movie: DubStep-Up! Thrill to the emotional rollercoaster that can only be provided by deep bass drops can give! Kinsel's also got a new question for all of us that kind of goes in a direction he wasn't expecting! Plus: what's Mike been messing around with for What's 'Appening? Listen so I can focus on something that isn't how to get this residue on my Blu-ray slip covers off! Seriously, why the hell do they do that? It's not like anyone's going to buy their kid a copy of Whisper of the Heart because it's got the DVD included, so why put on some damn sticker on it? Hey, the Detroit Auto show AND CES both happened this weekend! Which was awesome and which was lame? Well I didn't know either happened so you guys will be just as surprised as I was when we were recording! Unless you already checked them out that is.
